It was my day off and I felt like going for a hike. I loaded a backpack with granola and bologna sandwiches. I drove to a trail's entrance where there were other cars and other people going on hikes. I walked into the shaded wood and the people from the parking lot vanished. I was truly alone, or so I felt. When I reached my favorite lookout spot, I sat down to have a snack and take in the view and think.
"Beautiful spot, isn't it? I just stumbled on it today," she said.
I looked up to see a beautiful woman dressed in khaki shorts and a tube top. She had a nice tan, sun-bleached red hair that hung softly past her shoulders, and her eyes were scary blue. I mean her eyes actually scared me, they were so bright and piercing.
"I come here all the time," I said.
"Really? Why didn't you tell me about it sooner?"
"I'm sorry, but do I know you?"
"No. You don't know me. I am Joslin."
"I am pleased to meet you. My name is Freddy." I offered my hand. Instead of shaking my hand, Joslin grabbed it with a surprisingly firm grip. The clear sky had nothing on the eyes of the woman who had come and gone so quickly.
After I had my fill of nature, I hiked back down the mountain side and returned to civilization. I got into my car, but before I could turn on the ignition I heard a knock on the passenger window. I turned to see those scary eyes once again. I rolled down the window.
"You are going to take me to dinner tonight," she said very matter-of-factly. She threw a piece of paper into the passenger seat. "Pick me up at this address at six thirty." Then she walked away. She went off to a corner of the parking lot that I could not see. Baffled, I drove home to get ready for dinner.
All I remember about what I chose to wear to dinner is that it was mostly white in color. By coincidence, she also decided to wear white. She came out of her front door the moment I pulled up to her house. She had a white, silk dress on that ran the full length of her lovely body and had a slit along the left calf muscle. She
