Kevin Garnett and company will not see a title this upcoming season. Just because Garnett is a part of the Ray Allen and Paul Pierce mix, how many other teams have a strong starting five and still can't obtain a title. Detroit has been in 5 straight Eastern Conference Championships and only have one title in that span. The Suns have failed the last 3 years. If you're excited about a title, you must be a Celtics fan.

Celtics had to give up half their team to get Garnett. Ray Allen is getting old and Paul Pierce couldn't beat the Nets in the 2002 Eastern Conference Finals. Garnett disappears whenever he faces the Lakers. He put away a strong Kings team without Bobby Jackson in 2004. Kings should have manhandled the Timberwolves. Game 2 was a bust. Leading by 10 and on a roll, the Kings scored 1 point in the last 4 minutes and only lost by 5 points. A dramatic comeback in Game 3 in Arco Arena was tarnished by a technical in overtime by a thrown headband by Bibby, which resulted in a 1 point loss. Game 5 was ruined by ejecting Brad Miller in a contested Game 5. Game 7 was affected by the suspension of Anthony Peeler. Garnett has never lead the T-Wolves to a title or even sniffed the finals. He only made it past the first round once and that was in 2004.

The Suns have been trying to make it to the finals and have struck out three straight years. The Spurs always find a way to sneak in. Besides 1999, they have luckily squeaked by the competition to make it to the finals. If the Spurs lost Duncan like the Kings lost Webber in 2003, they would've been eliminated by the Lakers in Game 7 of the 2003 playoffs. Kings have been tarnished by bad luck, injuries and unfair calls. Fate of winning the title depends on a perfect oiled machine. If one thing goes wrong, your chances are squashed. Celtics are not ready to obtain the O'Brien Trophy. They still need a quality point guard. If Nash was recruited, then maybe I would believe that they have a legitimate chance. Garnett has never proved anything past his MVP trophy in 2004. Kobe Bryant has lead his team to the playoffs the past two years without any other stars. Garnett failed to accomplish this task after the 2004 playoffs.

Garnett will not lead the Celtics to the 2007-2008 title. The Celtics need more weapons and still have to challenge the Cavaliers, Pistons and Heat. If they make it to the finals, the West still holds the house. Garnett is definitely a huge pickup. He is the best player that the Celtics had acquired since drafting Larry Bird. Celtics have a chance in the next five years. Garnett is a big piece of the puzzle. Now the Celtics need to focus on finishing the puzzle. I'm not a Celtics fan, but Boston has been a great place to watch sports. To close this debate, Garnett will not lead the Celtics to a title in 2007-2008 season.
