This Is The Real Me
Years have slipped away,
and I have changed.
I no longer pride in my appearance,
or experience the playfulness;
Which at one time, made me unique.
I am now a captive,
of my own demise,
as my new persona is disconnected...
Full of lies!
The past, present,
& the future to be;
I am lost in emotions...
Why can't I go back;
Undo the time and, set my spirit free?
Slowly I discover the barrier...
Which clouds my head, shields my core;
Protects my heart, conceals my soul...
Led me into my self demise...
It was losing you..,
My one true love.
Now no one can hurt me.
For I have changed;
Yes, I now realize,
that this is the real me...
