Poetry: Want

by Kevin J. Putnam

Created on: August 29, 2007

Chrome glittered,
in the evening sun.

like sparks from
a machine gun!

It was going 150
when standing still.

I drooled drops
behind the wheel.

Out of the lot
screech and scratch.

on to the freeway
100 like that!

Back to the lot
how much for her?

talk down, talk up
are you really sure?

I drive away
with a smile on my face.

Saved for years
thru bad and thru grace.

Now I got it
my want satisfied.

Driving down the road,
all filled with pride!
