Security and prosperity partnership of North America

Last week President Bush met with Mexican President Caldern and Canadian Prime Minister Harper. The topic at hand?... The Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) a plan for a North American Union that would merge the U.S. with Canada and Mexico.

I have heard a few people suggest that this kind of union is necessary to support an economy that would compete with the EU. I am always happy to explain that in this kind of union, there would no longer be an American Economy to compare to the EU, so how does our American Economy compete with the EU if it is no longer the American Economy? Further the SPP would bypass Congress and the President to enforce North American Union Law. We know that Mexico and Canada don't like many of our security measures like our record keeping at DHS of people coming and going from the US. what is worse, Mexico and Canada are trying to persuade the President to rescind OUR security Laws, and stop the passport requirements governed by the Wester Hemisphere Travel Initiative (which would open the doors to terrorism).

If that isn't enough, the SPP would force the US to stop our border crossing checks, and implement an open border policy with Canada, and Mexico, which is a blatant attack on our sovereignty. The "trusted travelers program", would allow people from these countries to bypass border checks and move through the countries freely.

I like president Bush, But he is soooooo wrong on this issue. The USA does not want to be a North American Union with Mexico and Canada. If we were in such a concern for our economy that we would link with these super losers, then our politicians have not taken the time to properly analyze our economic problems.

1.We need to stop the deficit spending, and the selling of our debt to China.

2.We need to stop outsourcing American Jobs - Raise the taxes on companies that outsource to other countries, Hey we could even use the Tax money for aid... to the poor, Starving countries that are forcing their children to work in sweat shops... Lets use our SPINE (if we still have one) and make GOOD decisions on economics.
