Clearly those who work at home are much better off to buy a desktop computer. Well, there are many different kinds of computers and there are many different computer makers.

In regard to what kind of computer you do buy and what brand maker you select depends upon for what purpose you will use that new computer. So too, you should also determine if the machine you select is expandable for all of the things and data that you expect to put into it.

I built my machine for a cost of about $1,500 dollars and for that I have 750 GBs of storage within a total of three SATA hard drives. A CD/DVD RW drive and a CD/DVD drive. Integrated 128 MB video, TV tuner with remote, 19" LCD monitor, 7.1 channel audio and 2 GBs of RAM, 9 in 1 memory card reader. Yes, and I also have 9 UBS ports, together with a few fire wire ports, V92 modem, Mic in and video camera, 2.8 GHZ dual core processor with an 800 MHZ front side bus mother board. That's a whole lot of stuff.

More important, the machine will do what I want it to do for many years to come. So, if the laptop of the future can provide just as much utility as my desktop, well, I guess that my next machine will be one of those laptops. Happy computing.
