We all love to receive gifts but more than that we all love receiving gifts that we really want and wives are no different! To find out what your wife would especially like you only have to pay attention. Most women are aware that most men find it difficult to choose the right gift for them. This is why they drop hints on a regular basis and hope that their husbands take note. If a husband does remember one of these hints then a wife is particularly touched by her mans effort and will enjoy the present even more.

Such hints often appear under the guise of her pointing out an item in a shop window or remarking on an item that somebody else already has. Therefore if your wife says, "What a beautiful scarf that woman's wearing", as a stranger passes by the chances are that she would really like a similar scarf when it comes to present time.

If you have not managed to glean any information from your wife as to what she would like and you cant remember any hints then a romantic gesture is to opt for nostalgia. Do you remember a particular record that you used to dance to together when you were first dating? If so then you could go out of your way to get that record for her. Has she got a favorite movie that she insists on watching each time it is being shown? Then buy her the movie.

You will already know if your wife likes jewelery as she will wear it often. She may have a favorite piece that she wears the most. Ask her what she especially likes about it. It may be that it is made of a gemstone which she loves or has a particular style which she admires. Once you have gathered this information then you are all set to make a good choice on buying her another piece of jewelery that she will love. Perhaps her favorite item is a necklace and she would be really pleased to have some matching earing's.

Gifts to avoid are those which smack of household chores. Irons, washing machines and vacuum cleaners are not gifts. They are a necessity. A wife wants a hint of luxury to take her away from such humdrum issues as cleaning tasks.

Also avoid anything which is impersonal as a wife may feel offended if you choose a gift which is obviously not aimed particularly towards her taste. This includes bath sets, prepackaged gift sets presented in a wicker basket and boxes of chocolates.

Finally, when it comes to giving a gift and you don't have enough money to buy anything major do not give up and give your wife nothing at all. Even if your wife says to give her nothing due to finances ignore this and give her something. The present may be a poem or love-song which you have penned. It may be a candlelit dinner crafted by your own fair hand. Whatever you do, as long as you put some thought into it, will be appreciated.
