Most parents have the conception that their children attend kindergarten classes to learn the alphabet, numbers, shapes and colors. Whilst these activities are not to be left out, the most important thing to acquire in those early years is their self worth. This can be done by doing activities very young children enjoy. These are hands on activities like painting, doing crafts, music and drama. Very young children need to be constantly praised and encouraged for their efforts keeping in mind that what matters is the process not end results. Very often adults are impatient and keen to end the craft by finishing it themselves. This should not be done. It is the children themselves who have to finish the product. The adult's duty is to supervise and encourage the child to go forward.
