Testimonies: Home hair-dyeing disasters

Dishwater Blonde, that is the worst thing you could say to a woman. So I have spent many years trying out different kinds of color, One day I wanted to go dramatic, so went to the store to find one of the weirdest colors I could find, found Granier Nutrisse, #56, Sangria. The hair on the model of the box was purple. So, I thought that was the color for me. So on it went, and I waited, thinking of what people would say about a 45 year old with Purple head. After 40 minutes I washed it out, and it was gorgeous. It had gone from Purple to the most beautiful reddish copper color. I Loved it. However, that was not always the case, One night in my 30's I decided to go blonde, So it took about an hour or so of cooking, but soon after I washed it out it was blonde, so blonde it was almost white. Well, my hair was shoulder length, and I decided I also needed a perm. So went to the store, and bought all of the curlers, and the perming solution. When I got home I started rolling my hair. It was hard to do by myself, but figured it did not need to be perfect. I wanted it really curly, and so if they were a little sketchy it would be ok. In the meantime I was watching the Miss America Pageant on TV, (as if that wasn't bad enough to try to look like. So, on with the chemicals, and I set the timer and waited. I was ready for the shower when I started taking out the curlers, it looked like it was working, they stayed curly. However during the shower some of the curls fell off. Oops, now what I panicked just a little, but maybe one or two would still be ok, after all I had thick hair. So I finished and wrapped my hair up in the towel. Got to the mirror, took off the towel, and more hair came out, Now, I was starting to panic. So I thought I should dry it. But it never dried, because each curl felt like Soft Chinese Noodles. They really weren't curly, just bent, and squishy. (even when dry).

Next day, at the hair salon, literally had to have it cut nearly one inch all over my head. It was the funniest looking white blonde peach fuzz all over my head.
