i have a little boy who is mad about watching television, i mean he would
cry and cry if he wasn't allowed to watch what he wanted to watch, it's coming to a point where he gets his own way all the time, i have been told to set him times for his TV hour where he would get to watch what he wants for that period of time, and it has worked for a while now, but he demands to watch more by throwing tantrums and is starting to demand more than just TV, he also wants to stay up late and don't want to go to bed at his set time, so i had to get him a TV for his bedroom, i know this is a bad thing i have done cos he watches it until he falls to sleep, sometimes up until early hours of the morning. So what i decided with my partner was activities to keep him fit healthy and and his mind ain't bored he now does an activity 5 times a week. He now sleeps well through the night, he don't demand things like watching TV, otherwise he don't get to go on these activities for a week, he quickly realized being good gets him more than when he demands and also gets what he wants by being nice and asking nicely, so if you have a kid aged around 7 - 10 with these sort of attention seeking cases then try activities and get there mind occupied with giving them things to do, instead of letting them be bored then they get tired miserable and it gets let out in frustration which might be making them throw these tantrums. I hope this helps some people and is to use i can almost promise this will come to use to you and work as it has done for me.
