To make a success of your marriage through, the seven-year itch to your tenth anniversary is a milestone in itself. These days less than half make it that far so spend this time celebrating together, for reaching this wonderful achievement.
At this stage in your life, you may prefer to use your money wisely. With the mortgage on the house to pay and those unexpected annoying bills arriving, you may not have the extra cash to splurge on a celebration. There is no need to blow the budget, do something simple to celebrate.

After all it is just another day, I hear you say. Yes and a very special one at that, so enjoy it together. If it falls on a weekday, and a summer's night, then take a bottle of wine and a picnic basket down by the river. Relax and enjoy yourselves. If there is no one around, be daring and go for a swim without your swimmers, this will spark some romantic flames. If it is too cold, I am sure you will find a way to warm up.

If in the middle of winter, maybe a friend will cook you a meal and return the favor for her another time. Find those candles, a bottle of wine and set up a blanket in front of the wood fire. Set the scene for romance. Relax and use your imagination; pick a suitable theme and both dress for this special occasion at home.

The tenth anniversary symbol is tin, while the modern idea is aluminum. These are not expensive metals. So find an intriguing way of giving each other something along these lines. If you are struggling finance wise, then make a vase from large tin and decorate it, then fill it with ten red roses, or buy an aluminum vase. If the husband is interested in cars, boats or planes then ask a friend if they know someone that could make novelty items from aluminum cans, into one of those, he would love that.

A tin of chocolates with red roses on the lid, engrave your names under the roses.
His and hers aluminum photo frame, with a verse revisiting the ten years spent together.

If your anniversary falls on a weekend, go on a trip. Enjoy this time together capturing the romance of your honeymoon. Do not forget to take a gift to give each other. It would be funny if you both bought each other an aluminum watch.

Whatever you do, make it memorable, remember those years you have shared together. Now continue sharing your life with your loved one and create more memories to share with your grandchildren.
