10 Things I Hate About the World We Live In
Sometimes, I sit and ponder our world, ponder the good, ponder the bad, ponder the beautiful, the ugly, and the sad. For as much positive that I see around me, I am equaled out by the negatives that circulate my own American society, as well as the world community at large.
I ache and cringe at the horrific stories that come out of foreign lands like Africa (DRC) and the Middle East. Atrocities that are carried out against gender, the female gender, where an almost gender cleansing is accepted, tolerated, or eyes turned blindly away from. Women, the nurturers of life, are raped, sexually tortured, violated, victimized, and held down beneath a male dominated culture and society. Their bodies and minds are so worn down; it is amazing that so many still have the strength to walk upon this earth. I ache because age plays no favoritism, and the abuses toward the feminine gender are enacted upon the very young and the very old. We and the world community should be investing in our nurturers of life, not sitting idle while they are tortured and abused.
I am disheartened by the way my own country has fallen swiftly from a platform of respect, where they once represented a true model of leadership. The last several years the respect has turned to mockery, because of the arrogance and smugness that overshadows our politics and our leadership. The world community looks upon us as the hypocrites who push our ways on all, and yet lately, we cannot seem to get things right.
I am discouraged by the way our public school educational system has strayed so far from the days where teachers were actually allowed to teach, and that the way content curriculum was taught allowed room for every student to learn. Our children were enthused by their education. It is time to go back to the times where curriculum was not force-fed, but rather delivered age appropriately-not rushed.
I hate that in my own country, a country that prides itself on freedoms, has a large percentage of people that are truly clueless to the history of our country, and yet, try to push their inaccurate beliefs on everyone. This contradicts the very foundation of freedom in which we claim to be established upon.
This sort of goes with the above-your religion is your religion, so, why do you believe you have the right to force it upon all, push it into the laws that govern our country, and spread intolerance in the name of your religious practices? Do you not realize you trample
