Again, Helium has a question that maintains the status quo and doesn't question the reality we live with. I am not writing to the disagree side. It just seems to be the only opening to use to disagree with the question as stated. For serious journalistic purposes or opinion purposes, I am writing to disagree with the following question: Should we be focusing our military efforts on the Taliban, Al Qaeda and drugs in Afghanistan?

We should be focusing military efforts on the Corporate Empire that has attempted (and to a large degree, succeeded) to overthrow the Democratic Federal Republic of the United States of America. The nice thing about it is, we can do this by simply seizing the assets of the corporations that are members of the Empire. They are not very difficult to identify.

Of course, it will help to arrest the CEO's involved at the White House. Impeachment isn't enough, perhaps at this late stage. But our military has never had any business in Afghanistan or Iraq. The Taliban, as any literate person knows, was created by our own covert activities in the 1980's, including the deal with Bin Laden to "assist" in keeping the USSR from winning the day in Afghanistan.

On September 12, 2001, a far more significant day than 9-11-01, all the great newspapers, broadcast and cable media in the USA claimed that they knew who the 19 hijackers were and even had dossiers on them, saying they were Saudi Arabian nationals who had been living in this country, some for over eleven years and that they had all been granted special visas by our so-called government and even a few had special training at the behest of the Federal Aviation Administration on how to fly our largest airliners.

Furthermore, they even said that these people, who were somehow identifiable after being blown to smithereens in their attacks on "us", were part of terrorists cells in Newton, Massachusetts, Del Ray, Florida, and Northern Virginia. Don't take my word for it. I sure don't.

I read it in the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Baltimore affiliate of the Corporate Tribune. They even had pictures! I still haven't seen us invade Newton, yet. So, what it amounts to is this. And I can state it as a fact: It has been nearly six years since 911 and there still has been no response from either the Bush Administration or the United States Congress. And we just sold more weapons to Saudi Arabia. We deserve whatever is coming to us. Let's get busy and put an end to the Corporate Empire. A greater use of our military I cannot discern.
