There are so many simple ways that you can reward staff and create a performance focussed team environment where rewards are the carrot. Simple things like having an item that sits on the desk of the highest achiever for the week, a bell that people can ring when they close a sale,a kitty that everyone contributes to and the person with the most points at the end of the week wins, or even just a nominations box where an employee of the month is selected. It doesn't have to cost you a lot of time or money, as the best rewards in life are often free.
Whatever way you decide to reward staff it is imperative that you are consistent and fair. Deliver what you promise and make sure that the rewards don't turn into an all-in-all brawl as sometimes competitions can get quite heated!
