Every woman wants to be her most beautiful on her wedding day, and should remember that beauty comes in many forms, and certainly in all lengths of hair!
If you are sure that you want to have long hair for your wedding day, you can surprise everyone with extensions or a partial wig. As with all of these ideas, try on your intended hairstyle a few weeks before the big event, to make sure that it's wearable and actually what you want, and for this idea I would recommend keeping as close as possible to your everyday hair color.
If what you really want is an elaborate updo, your real hair can be styled, and a matching hairpiece added to form the desired shape of the updo- or ribbons or lace could be added to your own hair, and you could form a pretty, eclectic updo from there.
And now, on to those who want to use their everyday length, knowing it's sexy, individualistic, and quintessentially expressive. Consult with your stylist for ideas- or for ideas about who does really great wedding hair that they know of.
If you start growing your hair out when you get engaged, it gives you until your wedding to get it to whatever length you like, whatever length that is. Again, this calls for a consultation with whoever does your hair- and probably the purchase of a number of bridal and hair magazines to start daydreaming.
Intensifying- not necessarily changing- your hair color can give you that extra oomph to feel your most outstanding on your wedding day.
Having your bangs cut in a new way, perhaps something very glamorous, could also give you difference enough on the wedding day without changing your hair enough to make you uncomfortable with it.
Spray-on decorations are a time consuming specialty, but in the right hands and with the right dress spray-on glitter and pearls are the way to go.
There are a huge number of little items that can be clipped to your hair to provide any look imaginable- silk flowers on little barrettes, pearlescent clip-on beads, fanciful winged do dads, and clippys lightly decorated and strung together with strands of beads or shimmery cord.
You can also inventively incorporate your wedding headgear into the wedding-day do. Of course, you always have to think about it, but if you do, say, a pillbox hat and short veil with an old-hollywood dress, that is a complete, elegant look without your hair necessarily being involved at all.
Another thing you can look into is jewelry, modern or vintage- a gorgeous necklace can be customized to wear as a crown fairly easily, and is perfect for a bride looking for that one-of-a-kind touch.
Speaking of crowns- and tiaras, of course- the right one adds enough sparkle and detail that it can dress up almost anything just right.
Long story short, use your imagination and your personality- you can create your perfect wedding day look, hair included.
