No Child Left Behind: The needs of children vs politicians

This concept is a bunch of cow dunk. How can you pass a child to the next grade if that child does not know the material they need to know. It is not fair to the children who work hard and pass on thier own. Being in the education field; I see children who try their hardest to understand the material. Then, there are those who know they are going to pass, so they don't bother to do the work. There should be a place to send those who don't want to learn to get them away from those that do want to learn. I have three children and they want to learn. They have no idea what "No Child Left Behind" means and they won't unless they go into education when they grow up. As a parent, it is my job to ready my children for the teacher. I always make sure my children know what they are supposed to know before they go to school. It is hard enough for the teacher to deal with teaching a class full of students; but it is another for her to have time to work with the children one-on-one. I want to make sure my children are not the ones that need the extra help. I would rather take my time and help them so the teacher can focus on oter children that really need to be given extra help.
