School uniforms benefit students, schools, and the surrounding community. Socioeconomic status can hinder a child's education when they are on the lower end of the spectrum. Students indulge themselves in expensive name brands from head to toe. Wearing uniforms would bring equality to the campus. Students would not be able to tell the difference between cheap and expensive uniforms.
Dress code is an issue on most school campuses. In low income areas, gang attire can be a prevalent issue. Uniforms would enforce students to stay away from gang affiliated clothing and accessories such as bandannas, sagging, and over sized clothing. Female students would be prohibited from wearing revealing clothing. This would encourage students to focus on their education versus their peers' outer appearance.
Finally, safety is a positive outcome of enforcing uniforms. Nowadays, schools need to take every precaution in protecting students. Besides prohibiting gang-affiliated clothing, visitors on campus would stand out. When students attend field trips, uniforms would assist teachers and/or administrators in keeping their groups together.
Uniforms bring many benefits to the community. Students are encouraged to put forth more of their attention to their academic future.
