Pros and cons of the Weight Watchers weight loss program

After spending four years at college with an unhealthy diet of alcohol and not so healthy food, I gained a few more pounds than anticipated. I have always been obsessed with my weight, even having gone through an eating disorder during high school. For some reason towards the end of my college career, I did not seem to notice my increasing weight gain....or perhaps I was too busy partying and being depressed to notice. Regardless, I packed on about 30-30 pounds by the time I graduated college, and i have been trying wanting to shed that extra weight for the past year or so since I have graduated.

My mom has had success with the Weight Watchers program and diet, so i decided to finally give it a whirl. Here are a few pros and cons I have accumulated over the past few weeks.....

Keeping track of every single little thing you eat or drink can be tedious. I love to eat wraps, so you can imagine having to dissect every part of it and write it down....for instance I usually have a wheat wrap with turkey, cheese, mustard, onion, lettuce, and so on. Although these foods are not necessarily hard to keep track of points-wise, it can just be a pain. I actually noticed that I seem more hungry and desperate for food when I know that I am counting every single little thing.

Healthy food is more expensive, which blows. Now I know this is not Weight Watchers fault, and that is why I love that they have a more flexible weight loss program. You don't have to buy any special foods or products; you can just eat regularly, and keep yourself within a certain number of points.

Even if you are not exercising regularly, you will still notice some weight loss of you are at least staying within your points. And if you are exercising along with the diet, than the weight will be shed even more quickly.

I really enjoy this diet, because it really does not feel like a diet. The first week might be a little tricky, but soon you will get used to writing everything down and eating less, and you may even see that figure in the mirror that you have been dying to see for years!
