Tips for buying storage solutions for kids' rooms

I want my child to be safe and happy to experiment. Beside that I want their room to be tidy - at least from time to time.

There must be a closet for the clothes, rail for coats and drawers. There are ready divided drawers for socks or underwear. Perfect storage for shoes is hanging pigeonholes made of cloth. They are made to hang from the rail and they can be used also for toys, towels, sheets etc.

Under the bed there is always empty space, perfect for bedclothes, pillows and linen. Plastic box with wheels is easy to roll out. With lid it protects from dust and other dangers like chocolate fingers or artists paint.

Children have to have books and a bookshelf. If there is some doors, even better. Because in hurry you can hide there almost everything. Even your child if it is big enough.

Best place for toys are the stacked plastic boxes. They can be spread in a line, used as a train and upside down as a seat. Piled they don't take much space and if they are see trough even better. Then you can find toys at one glance without digging.

Children like bright colors and they lighten up their life. So if you don't own nice color furniture, paint them. You can add small details with your child, let them draw the flowers or leave their own hand prints. Us your imagination to update what you already have. Small baskets and jars are great for small items. Ask you child's opinion before you buy anything, they are many times much smarter than us adults. Or at least have strong opinion about pink color, they are either for it or very much against it.
