How to tell if your house is haunted

is a safer more through method of investigation and if there is a legitimate haunt trying to debunk it will also prove it.

Investigators will investigate all calls they get in a sequence order. Top priority is any home or establishment that has children, disabled individuals or the elderly present. Second on the list is any activity that is considered dangerous and it may be bumped to number one if there is risk of injury or has been injury caused by the said paranormal activity. These are rare but they happen.

If you truly want to know if your house is haunted, you can be a ghost hunter yourself. Here are the steps to take.

1. Try to recreate the event. Duplicate that exact setting of the events and try to make it happen again... open and close doors, move objects etc.

2. Account for everyone and everything. Where was everyone, account for every individual in your home at the time, location, actions etc. Find all the pets and make sure you know where they were. Many hauntings have been proven to be very smart pets with odd habits caught in the act. Check with your neighbors and see what was going on outside, cars, trucks, children playing, music etc can often be heard inside a home.

3. Check all appliances and electrical devices. Check circuit breakers and fuses for burnt fuses or blown breakers. Check for surges from your electrical devices. Make sure appliances are running properly and efficiently. Purchase an inexpensive Electro Magnetic Field Detector, or EMF Detector as they are known and check all your appliances, breakers, outlets and electrical devices for their field output. Any major fluctuations or extremely high outputs should be checked by a professional. High EMF fields can cause an individual to experience Paranormal sensations. High fields are also dangerous to your health and have been linked to various forms of cancer.

4. Check your plumbing. Leaks, backups, settling and banging of pipes and plumbing can cause odd activity and sounds in a home. Mold can also cause individuals to experience paranormal sensations and can be deadly.

5. Check the structure of your home including all fixtures for drafts, settling or loose parts.

6. If the activity continues and you've been unable to locate a source try setting up a video camera or audio recorder to capture the activity. You may be surprised by what you catch. If you still think your home is haunted or has unusual activity that is disturbing you or your family check on line or your local phone book for a local paranormal investigation team to help you out. Local Metaphysical shops are also a good source for finding information or known investigators in the area.

7. Most importantly remember that 99% of proven hauntings are harmless..they cannot hurt you or your family. If you feel you are a victim of a malicious haunt call someone for help immediately.

In the years that I have investigated hauntings I have never ceased to be amazed by what I find from legitimate haunts to unexpected things that imitate haunts, it is an amazing world out there. Happy Haunt Hunting!
