I want, at the end of a long day full of dirty laundry and a broken washing machine, spilled milk and a box of cereal dumped on the floor, a daughter with a crisis at school, a son with a bloody nose at soccer practice, and 200 cupcakes made for the PTO bake sale, to not have my husband come in from work, look at the mess in the living room and say, "What did YOU do all day?"
I want, when I squeeze into pre-baby jeans just 6 weeks after baby was born and I ask, "How do I look?", for my husband to give me an honest answer, and still manage to not hurt my feelings.
I want the toilet seat to stay down, and the toothpaste lid to stay on. I want clean clothes hung in the closet, and dirty clothes put in the hamper (not rocket science, though you would think it is as hard as it appears to be).
I would love it if dirty dishes actually made it in to the dishwasher, rather than just sitting on the counter right about the dishwasher. While were in the kitchen, I would also love it if peanut butter covered knives were not left sitting in a pile of crumbs next to the toaster.
And for the not so superficial... I want to be loved... not just a little, but completely, unconditionally. I want to be honored, revered, respected and appreciated. I want my husband to think that I do a good job, and to tell me so, often. I want him to care about my opinions, and need my advice and support. I want him to give me advice and support. I want to be loved, and to know that he loves being loved by me.
