Benefits of taking vitamins with food

Better Absorption. That is the number one reason for taking a vitamin supplement with your food. In the year 1992, the American Medical Association after much initial resistance finally, after study and then more studies, had proof that vitamin supplementation with food had great benefits when used to combat the on start of heart disease. Especially vitamin B3, know also as niacin.

Vitamin supplementation boosts every thing from your immune system, to your hair. Some vitamins like Beta-carotene protect against cancer. Folic acid is a help when it comes to preventing birth defects. The B vitamins help in many ways. B12 prevents everything from depression to anemia, and helps with memory problems. Vitamin C,has the role of helping to heal wounds faster, and boosts the immune system. Vitamin A for vision, Vitamin K for helping blood to clot and helps strengthen bone. I could go on and on with this list but i am sure you are starting to grasp the benefits of vitamin supplementation.

Another very good reason to contemplate taking, a complete vitamin supplement is because, sadly our food today is nutrient deficient. Vitamin and nutrient content is lost in foods when they are dried, frozen, over processed or stored improperly.

Funny how most prescription medications, will tell you straight up. " Take with food". Alas i think that vitamin supplements should say the same thing. Some health food stores today sell multi vitamin/mineral supplements in liquid form. This is much better than taking a pill, as you will absorb even more of the vitamins.

These days, one needs to be their own advocate for their good health. Now that you know the sad truth about how most foods are nutrient deficient. I am pretty sure you will remember to include a good multi vitamin mineral supplement in your diet. Remember for proper absorption to take place, you must take with food.
