I am sure I am not the first girl to experiment and try her luck at chemically changing her hair color at home. When I turned three years old I had my first perm, seriously, I have pictures my mom toke to prove it. At the age of nine I got highlights, my mother did it using an over the counter highlighting kit from out local drug store. That's were it all began, the obsession, every new color meant a new beginning, like the chapters to my life. Were one stopped another began, and with each color came a new interest and path ways to who I am now. I can almost name each hair color that corresponds with each time period of my life.

My first and most memorable shade was when I was thirteen. I talked my mother into allowing me to dye my hair with a henna based solution in the very beautiful and unique shade of purple. After that shade I have been everything from deep and light red to jet black and natural black, then a few months later orange and gold and eventually blonde, then blue and green, pink and fire engine red, my hair has been copper and light ash brown. I have had my hair past the middle of my back and as short as one inch off the top of my head. Experimenting with my appearance has never been very hard for me in fact it is one of the one few things I can control. I like knowing that I am flexible with my looks and I like that I don't care if others like my hair color or think it is weird. As long as it makes me happy that's all that matters.
