There are several ways in which your business name can be key to your success. Here are a few of the key factors and why they may impact your success.

*Memorable
In many businesses, people aren't at home with the yellow pages or in front of the computer when they need to call you (i.e. tow trucks). In these instances, it is important that the name of your business be memorable, so when they do need your services, your business is the name they remember.

*Alphabetical advantage
All names in the yellow pages are listed alphabetically. This means if you name your business AAA Locksmith, you will probably be listed first. This is crucial if your business isn't selected on size or reputation or performance.

*Self-explanatory
I f you intend to advertise on billboards, etc. it is important that people understand what you do or what service you provide. If your business is called "Jay's Do it Right", what does that tell the customer? If your business is called "Jay's Dry Cleaners", then the customer immediately knows what you offer.

*First Impression
The name of your business will automatically cause some type of image or reaction to register with the customer. The key is to make it positive. For example, a bread company could be "Oven Fresh Breads". That says the bread is fresh. If the company was called "Green Bread" that wouldn't be very appetizing.

Remember these tips and you'll have the first hurdle cleared.
