Manchester United Striker Troubles:

Once upon a time, in a stadium not far away, well Old Trafford, Manchester, to be precise, there lived a football team that boasted genuine goalscoring threat. Now, as all followers of the premiership may have noticed, times have changed.

Now the closest a United striker has come to hitting the back of the net is Carlos Tevez's glaring miss in the Manchester derby last Saturday. In fact,the only Manchester United player to score this season is Paul Scholes, with a magnificent strike against Portsmouth. With a plethora of talent, consisting of Carlos Tevez, Wayne Rooney, Louis Saha, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Dong Fangzhuo, Lee Martin, Frazier Campbell, Cristiano Ronaldo, Anderson and Nani making up the attack, there should be no cause for concern.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. With only Carlos Tevez as a recognized striker, Sir Alex Ferguson's men are desperately lacking firepower. This has brought about increased speculation over a new strikers joining Manchester United. Nicolas Anelka, Obafemi Martins, Adriano and Gilardino have been touted as potential buys.

But one thing remains the same, United are in desperate need of goals, and fast! 2 points in 3 games provides real cause for concern!
