Have you remembered? It is anniversary time again. A day to be set aside for celebrating the years that you and your partner have been together. Thus once more the time has come to put on the "thinking" cap and try to devise a great gift that will be fitting for this occasion. Of course the most difficult choice to make for an anniversary gift is whether it should be for the individual or one that you both can share. Let us take the individual gifts first.

FOR THE LADY

There are physical gifts of all shapes sizes and costs that you can give to your lady on the anniversary day, some which will cause your bank manager to shudder and others that will hardly raise an eyebrow from the aspect of cost. The art is making the gift special, whatever the gift is.

If you want to buy jewellery for your lady, perhaps a simple heart on a chain or a diamond ring, then you could think of a unique way in presenting this gift. For example, what you could do is buy a box of her favourite chocolates, carefully unwrap the box so that you can re-seal it, and then replace the middle chocolate with the item of jewellery. If your art of re-wrapping has worked it will be a major surprise for her as she prepares to indulge herself.

If your lady is lover of flowers as well as you, an ideal anniversary present would be to present her with a multitude of flowers. How can you do this you might ask? The answer is in the planning. Together with the card that you have placed in the bouquet of flowers you are presenting to your love on the day, include two tickets for a day out or weekend break to visit a special flower event. In the UK this could be the Chelsea flower show, which is a popular annual event, or one of the many national trust gardens open all the year round. In Europe, there is a choice of a tour of the flower fields of Holland or the flower festivals of Spain. The list is endless and no doubt, if you live in other parts of the world, the same will be true. You could extend this idea to a number of different gift types including, if you are considering buying perfume, visits to the showrooms of the manufacturers.

Romantic weekend breaks are also well received as anniversary gifts. In this case either arrange a break away at a place that has special importance to your love, or pick one of the myriads of places worldwide that are connected with romance, such as New York, Acapulco, Paris and Rome.
