Short stories: A cat's perspective on life

..::Cat Thoughts::..

Eurgh! What is this?! Tuna flavour again! You know, it doesn't even taste like tuna. They don't tell the owner that do they?! They try and trick me by putting a picture of a fish on the tin, but I know that it's not real tuna! I'm a cat and I know what I like and it's not this!

Here she comes again, yes, yes, I won't eat it, I know. It's vile, why should I?

Anyway, I'm here to tell you about me. I'm just a plain household cat to them, but I know the rules... and how to break them. I run several of these households. What they don't know is I know where to get better food without actually catching it myself.

This family is just Sue on her own. Poor woman, I'm the only company she gets. She leaves me alone all day, why should I wait for her? I go three doors down to the Jones family. Husband, wife, and two kids. Tuna, chicken, everything a cat could dream of. Kids get annoying though, so I usually go there for a feed and come to Sue for a more quiet life.

Neither of them mind if I'm out and about for a while. I'm usually at the Jones' in the day when the kids are at school. The wife is there in the day, feeds me until I'm full. Then I go to Sue's place for the night, depending what's on the menu.

I bet you think I'm a lonely cat who uses people for food and attention when it suits me. Well I'm a cat! I can go where I want, eat when I want and sleep when I want. I like to be on my own. There is a cat that uses Sue's garden, well he likes to think he owns it. He doesn't realise I can see him come into my garden! Ha! I'll catch him one day and he won't want to come back.

Anyway I got to run, I can smell chicken three doors down.
