Great ways to say "I love you"

There are many good ways to tell your spouse that you love them. Often the most convincing and touching are the times when no words are used at all. Your declarations of love do not have to be huge and dramatic to make an effect. Often people feel the most loved from their spouses when they have small things done for them.

Doing something for your spouse to make their life easier is a great way to let them know you not only love them, but appreciate what they do. Every now and then, take one of he chores your spouse normally takes care of, and do it for them. This works best if you don't seek out appreciation after you complete the task, but instead wait and let them find out for themselves. After preparing yourself to tackle a task you don't like, only to find that it has already been taken care can make you feel nothing but happy.

Small gifts and tokens can also let your spouse know how much you care. Whether it be jewelry, flowers or even just a coffee in the morning, the fact that you were thinking of your spouse and purchasing something to make them happy is likely to work. Sending flowers to a workplace can brighten anyone's day, making them feel loved and important.

To show your spouse you love them, it is important to be interested in what they have to say. Rub their shoulders and listen after they have had a hard day. This is sure to relax your spouse, and they will appreciate your help and support. Marriage is about having a partner, and it is crucial that your partner be there through good times and bad. Often the bad times are the best times to show your spouse you love them.

Never forget that the words "I love you" need to be said, and not always as the stock response when getting off the phone. A random verbal affirmation can really make your partner feel your love. Too often in marriages the couple thinks that the other person knows they love them, and think they no longer have to say it. This is far from the truth. Even after a marriage of fifty years or more, only positive things can come from telling your spouse those three little words, with a little luck you will get them back.
