Despite all the bad press and wrong doings of these out-of-control celebrities we pay as much attention to them as we do to nightly news. How can their careers suffer when we are not necessarily supporting them, but supporting the coverage of their train-wreck behavior. These celebrities are still getting interviews, movies, book deals and endorsements regardless of their behavior.

We thrive on watching them fall time after time just to see if they will pick themselves back up. When pictures and video of these celebrities doing something illegal or immoral are found they are sold for thousands if not millions. Not only are the paparazzi making money but so are those who star in the pictures and movies. Paris Hilton made millions off of her sex tape, it boosted her career more than anything else had. Lindsay Lohan's stints in rehab may have hurt the premiere of her movie yet there are still talks of a new album for her. And although Nicole Richie has done her own stint in rehab and is set to serve jail time for another DUI the media is portraying her as a saint simply because she is pregnant.

Although these stars do need to help themselves in order to help their careers it is going to take more than a few errors before society gives up on them. We are so fascinated by what the next chapter in their dramatic lives may bring that we continue to watch them. We may not buy their next album or go to their next movie, but our obsession with them has talk show hosts and writers trying to get to the bottom of why the behave like they do; which equals more money for that celebrity. Let's face it, Britney Spears hasn't released an album in years yet she is now gracing magazine covers and failing to show up for interviews and we are captivated by her every move.
