I strongly and personally believe that the internet does encourage cheating.
There are so many ways for it to happen on the internet but I also think that some of it depends on one's own definition of what is cheating and what isn't cheating.
There's webcams, chatrooms, instant messengers, pornography, and more on the internet.
The webcams, chats, and IMs can typically be harmless. But if pushed to the brink of curiosity one could begin conversation with someone else and it turn into an emotional affair.
I guess for some in an already troubled marriage it could be an escape from the real world. A chance for them to not be themselves and do something forbidden. This applies to the newlyweds with curiosity as well.
I just think its so simple to make the decision to turn the computer off every now and then and spend time with whomever your married.
