How to prepare a child for the school bus

I think in answering this question, one needs to sit back and think about their own feelings when they were a child. When I was younger I was so scared to take the bus, I didn't have very many friends and it seemed like the bus was where they picked on me the worst, I made my parents take me to school. I think that for younger kids having a parent walk them to the bus helps a lot, but some kids would be embarrassed by this, it all depends on the child, each is different. I think it's important to talk to your child first, and find out if they have any fears that maybe you can help them resolve. For those kids who have no fear I do not think that they need any pep talks they are just ready to do it and need no guidance at all, and this is great. Preparing depends on the child, if your child needs the preparation, listen to what they have to say, ask those questions, and be there to support their fears, and rid them if you can.
