Saving and putting yourself first

When you find yourself able to you should tithe your first 10% if whatever you earn. This isn't easy but I'll tell you something. Since I have been giving into the church, my finances aren't as bad as I thought they were. In fact, this month I will just break even, and that is better than being short. I noticed a slight increase in pay, and am grateful for this.

My 10% may not be much but in the long run, the blessings are worth it. It really isn't the amount you give but whether or not if it was given with heartfelt joy. Then you set aside your rent, food, clothing, and then comes the rest. When you go shopping, take your change and put it in a jar, don't spend it for any reason, until your jar is full, take it to the bank and deposit it. Keep this up until you make twelve deposits, pretty soon this becomes a habit and before you know it, you'll have a pretty penny saved up.

When you have the desired amount saved up celebrate and go out to dinner. Then again, repeat this process and you may not have millions but you'll find that in time you'll have more than enough to get by.
