Assessing whether women work harder than men

For me thats a somewhat stupid question because it totally depends on the person and their lifestyle. I've observed situations where the man of the house stayed at home and cooked and clean. While his wife, went to work for a living. And vice versa when the man goes to work and the woman stayed at home.
But, more commonly than not, both parents work for a living. In that case it depends on the jobs that they have. In my family my father works about 12hrs. a day and my mother works way less than that. But in other family's it could be the complete opposite. The mother might work two jobs and the father, only one.
It all boils down to the jobs and the family situation. There is on real way to determine wheter a male or female works harder, unless we go through each family and household. Which is highly unlikely!
