While both of these are still large issues in modern day America, one definitely outweighs the other, and that is racism. Sure, sexism is still a problem, but this is only the case in certain aspects of the modern world. Today, we are seeing both men and women rising to become success stories in businesses across the globe. No more are women barred from places simply because they are women.

Racism however, is still rampant across our "accepting" country. Kids who have grown up with parents who were or are racist learn it from them, and then spread the ignorance to their friends and so on and so forth. First, it was racism against blacks, which is the kind of racism most Americans know so well, but it has blossomed into racism against other cultures as well. The Muslim culture is a perfect example of this. While it does hold true that many terrorists (including the ones responsible for the 9/11 attacks on this country) are indeed Muslim, this does NOT make every single person walking down the street in a turban a terrorist.

American people are very quick to judge everyone else that is "not like us" however this country needs to reevaluate because if we continue the path we are setting now, it will only get worse until we're back to where people of a different race are not allowed in places that "white Americans" are allowed. People need to stop being so ignorant and open their eyes and stop hating and blaming based on different clothing, skin color, or anything they find foreign to them.
