Walking each day, I see wildlife also listen for the wildlife in the area, in which I live. Luckily, where we live there is so much wildlife the local council is doing its best to try and preserve as much off the area where the wildlife live. Also native grasses as well, we live close to the city and yet we have a country feel about us, because of the environment.

Local waterways are being revived, walking early in the morning you can hear more frogs hiding in the native grasses each day. I walk with my dogs each day, when you are out there early in the morning, the reaction of the dogs on hearing the frogs it is quite funny. It is pleasant sounds hearing the frogs, by hearing the frogs you know the waterways are alive and well.

Walking with my camera as spring is just around the corner, I have been taking photos of our native bird life. Our birds are so pretty, bright and colorful. The River Gums along the edge of the creek bed, offer nestling opportunities for the birds. If you walk early in the morning you can be lucky enough to hear the sound of baby Kookaburras around the nesting sights and other baby birds. One lucky morning when I was out walking, there were two groups of baby ducklings just sitting there waiting for my camera? Now they are on my front screen as a screen saver. With new wetlands being built, this year there has been more Kookaburra's in our trees a magical sound for any traveler in our local area.

With new wetlands being built by the council this spring is going to be a wonderful sight with the color of our native vegetation, the color of our native birds. Our local area is looked after by a council that is committed to looking after our parks and wildlife, by preserving it for the future generations. As you walk about you neighborhood try and find your local native wildlife it makes for an interesting hobby in the middle of our life when our kids are now married and left home.

Spring has passed us by here in Australia, Summer has nearly finished we are all praying for rain in South Australia with no luck again this year. Most of the wildlife in our council area is struggling for water. The local ponds are drying up, there is little water left for the ducks and birds.

Last season birds were dying because they were flying such a long distance, in South Australia looking for feed and water. This season the same thing is going to happen and that is a tragedy.
