Is marriage still sacred?

Marriage (and family) today are no longer traditional, sacred, or revered entities. Both of these are no longer what they once were. Marriage today has become nothing more than a legal partnership between two people thanks to our justice system, the legal profession, the cost of living, and a lack of religion in our lives. Our values, morals, principles, and integrity decline because of the lack of it. How many young people (13-20) today go to church regularly on Sunday?. How many parents take their children (6-13) to church regularly on Sunday today?. Do you?.

When two people hardly see each other during the course of a week because of their jobs, because they both need to be working to make a living and pay for child care, that can be done living as partners just as easily as being married.

When women nowadays give up their virginity at 12-15 years old and even have children by that time. Enough said. (I guess the word "no" is for use only when talking with your parents). A sign of our, "instant gratification based", society. Fast food, the drive up, and the "pill" are responsible for that. We want it now and can't wait.

When men are ordered to pay $300-$800 dollars a month in child support for one child, why would one legally commit to getting married?. It hasn't proved to be a deterrent for getting divorced. Its just added more jobs to our service based economy tracking the non-payers, doing pay roll garnishments, etc, etc.

When men have to give up all that they worked for during a marriage (whether spouse was working or not), why get married?. At least if you decide to part just living together you can take your stuff with you. Guys, remember, its a woman's court room in todays world.

Nowadays you need to get a lawyer before you get married and draw up a prenuptial agreement, which is a whole lot cheaper than getting a divorce without one later. And don't rush to have children. See either way the legal profession has created a need for itself in our lives. Did you know in most states its costs ($$$$$) you to change back to your maiden name?

Something "sacred" is usually religion based.
