The decision to go to college or not is a very important decision that everyone will make. Once you decide to further your education, you have to decide if you want a community college or a university. Unless you are pursuing a two-year degree, I would strongly recommend going to a University. Some people think that by going to a community college to get their generals done they will save money. While the tuition may be lower at the community college, not all of the credits will transfer to your University later and will have to be taken over.
Another important point to keep in mind is that many degree programs require at least three years to finish the core classes. By taking the first two years to complete your generals at a community college, you will still have to work those three years at the university and therefore extending your years of college, thus costing you more time and money. By taking your generals at the University, you can take them periodically throughout your four years of taking the core degree classes. This will reduce the hassle of transferring credits that might not all transfer and ensure that you will graduate on time.
