As Clint grows older his movies get better. The Bible says that wisdom comes when you are old and have gray hair. This is certainly true for Clint Eastwood. Mystic River based on a Dennis Lehane novel is an extremely dark, suspenseful piece of work. Eastwood in all his wisdom chose the best actors in the business to be in his greatest masterpiece to date. For the leading roles, he chose academy award winner Sean Penn, academy award winner Tim Robbins, and academy award winner Laura Linney. Each played their part to perfection, especially Tim Robbins deeply disturbed father figure, who is hiding many deep dark secrets that come to light through out the two and a half hour movie. Eastwood's supporting cast is as good as the leads with Kevin Bacon and Laurence Fishburne playing key roles as detectives trying to solve the murders.

I don't want to give the movie away for anybody who has not seen it yet. All I will say is that it keeps you interested and at the edge of your seat. You hope that all will turn out good, but deep down you know that this is not that kind of movie. If you are looking for something funny, then you are watching the wrong movie. If you feeling like crying and depressing yourself then this is the movie for you. If you want laughs, watch "Caddy Shack"
