The first time I tried to take my first steps
I felt oh so frightened;
I felt like I was all alone and every baby step
I took was oh just too heightening.
The first time I kissed the boy of my choice
I didn't really know what to do;
I decided that a another kiss might lead to something else
and I wanted to remain on of the chosen few.
The first time I sang I was nervous enough
I stared up at that one ceiling light;
I prayed that God would help me get through it
and He made everything alright.
The first time I wrote a story it was
For my students at school to see;
They thought it was neat and great to write one
So they tried to write one just like me.
There are many firsts but they don't always
have to form a rhyme;
