I am not going to say that college is for everyone...because it is not. However, once the end of high school comes to a close, it should be a consideration. Some students take a year off. Which is fine as long as the student does not take the year off thinking that they are a 17 or 18 year old retiree. The year off should be used to explore the world, different trades and experience the "real world". Be useful. Another thought is to take the year and take general education classes, from a college that is accredited, possible night school. This way you can transfer the credits to a university or college, and not be intimidated that you are far behind the rest of your age group, if you decide you want to continue. I also suggest, if you are not sure what you want major you want...take different courses to explore your interest.
