Public surveys from time of John F. Kennedy's assassination until the present have revealed an increasing skepticism about the conclusions of the Warren Commission. What accounts for this attitude? Is it American's peculiar fondness for conspiracy theories? A desire to see some purpose of design in event ascribed to the actions of lone nut gunman? Or is it because the conclusions put forward by the Warren Commission somehow lacked credibility despite being promulgated by a literal "who's who" of America's leadership elite?
The answer to this question and the broader question of the mystery surrounding JFK's assassination are provided in Craig J. Zirbel's book "The Texas Connection". In Zirbel's brilliantly argued book the traditional JFK assassination theories are authoritatively and systematically debunked and the only man who truly had a compelling and urgent motive to see JFK murdered is revealed. That man is Lyndon Baines Johnson who is without question the most singularly and thoroughly corrupt man ever to occupy the White House.
Zirbel's book begins by dissecting the deficiencies of the Warren Commission Report. The principal and overwhelmingly problem with the Warren Commission Report is its bais against any evidence that did not support the lone gunman theory. It is also contains one of the most ridiculous propositions ever put forward in the history of official government-sanctioned pronouncements in the form of Arlen Spector's "magic bullet" theory wherein the three shots supposedly fired by Lee Harvey Oswald would repeatedly have to violate several laws of physics. The deficiencies of the Warren Commission Report account for the continued public skepticism about it spite of its pedigree.
Having thus dismissed the Warren Commission Report, Zirbel then elaborates on principles of a properly conducted criminal homicide investigation. In a successful investigation the overriding fact that must be ascertained is "cui bono?" or who benefits? After a list of suspects is identified by means of the "cui bono" standard the list is further narrowed down into a set of prime suspects by determining whether any of the suspects possessed the requisite means, motive and opportunity to commit to orchestrate the act.
Using the techniques of a criminal homicide investigator Zirbel quickly dismisses the Cuban Assassination Theory, The CIA Assassination Theory, The Russian Assassination Theory, The Oil Men Assassination Theory, and The Military-Industrial Complex Assassination
