Why the 'man of reason' should be celebrated more than the 'man of faith'

When we are children, we are often encouraged to ask questions about whatever we don't understand. You can not learn anything unless you ask questions. However, when it comes to religion and spirituality, we must simply accept it without further inquiry. A man of faith is a man of cowardice. A man of faith doesn't feel the need to research anything because the Bible said Noah gathered two of every species of animal and put them on a boat to save them because God flooded the earth so it must be true. He just goes with whatever is popular without thinking for himself and doesn't ask for proof of anything. The man of reason is the stronger of the two. He doesn't believe something simply because it's what he's been told. He wants hard evidence that proves the claims to be true. If no one can give a straight answer, the man of reason doesn't waste his time with elaborate stories. He explores every possibility and comes to his own conclusion after making a complete analysis of his findings. There are three types of people: The controllers, the controlled, and the self-controlled. The controllers are the ones who keep people in line. They are the politicians, the religious figures, etc. They have so much influence over the masses that everyone just worships the ground they walk on. The controlled are the people who believe anything the controllers tell them. They try to convince you that everything they are told is true and become defensive and overzealous when someone tells them something different. The self-controlled are the people who don't join the controlled and conform to what the controllers tell them to believe. They think for themselves, religiously or otherwise. They are the men of reason who make everything work. Without them, we wouldn't have the social advances, educational advances, or even simple technological advances we have today. All the things we use everyday that we normally don't think about(indoor plumbing, telephones, cars, etc.)would not be here if a man of reason didn't come forward and dare to be different. If it weren't for the people who think for themselves and have the courage to speak out against what they believe is wrong, women would still be viewed as second-class citizens and not have voting rights. Children would still be working in coal mines. People who are old enough to serve in the military would still have to wait until they're twenty-one to vote. The world would still be flat, witches would still be burned, liquor would cure every ailment known to man, and putting a tuberculosis patient in a room with the window open when it's fifteen degrees outside would still help him. The men of faith don't pay attention to everything the men of reason have given us, even though they use it every day.
