If you have lots of bottles from soft drinks,condiments,jams, sauces etc. Take it to recycling centers or putting it in the recycle bins provided by the city. Find out where the glass recycling centers are in your area, they will pay you for it. Again a win, win situation for your family and the environment.

Use napkins instead of paper napkins. It will cost more to recycle paper napkins even the ones that says recyclable. You can always wash the napkins along with your laundry in cold water.

Using cold water to wash your clothes reduces energy bill.

Washing dishes, fill the sink up with water with soap one side & other side to rinse rather than running the water to clean the dishes.

When sending gifts to your loved ones in different states or countries. Ask the cashier if they have corn based products instead of plastic, or Styrofoam products to ensure your package is well protected. They will be happy and willingly help you or give you information so you can purchase corn based products to wrap your gifts and packaging.

We all spend on clothes from designers to non-designer labels. Look for clothes that are environmentally friendly and made from recycled ones. You get hip styles so you are not made to feel like an grandma.

Install Solar panels in your home. This saves so much of money and conserves energy. One can only benefit by making your home solar power.

Giving gifts, don't buy wrapping papers will be just torn & put in the garbage. Use newspapers to wrap gifts. This will also reduce in cutting down of the trees. As we all know, trees provide oxygen. Buying fancy wrapping papers is not going to save the environment, only will cause more damage. Recycle all paper products.

Don't buy Styrofoam plates, cups,& other Styrofoam materials & paper plates. Use plastic plates, which can be re-uses over & over again for BBQ's. Styrofoam is non-degradable, causes more damage in landfills.

To save our planet, we all have to take responsibility to ensure our future generations will not be affected for the damages we human beings have done. Not only for the future generations also for our present generation. This is a cause and effect relationship we have with our planet. The sooner we realize our planet is being destroyed by us and our ignorance than only we can change. Whether it is small or big, it will help in "Going Green", to save our planet.
