How to be a top salesperson

ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE...LISTEN, THEN TALK! TELL! AND SELL!

Successful professionals "walk the walk and talk the talk", right? Never a truer word was uttered, especially when it applies to top salespeople!

Just how badly do you want to become a top salesperson? Your answer will indicate whether or not you are capable of achieving such a high distinction!

Let's consider that you've already joined the sales staff of a progressive company. You have been in sales for a short period of time (or maybe for several years), and you are good at what you do, but you just cannot come out on top. Why not? What's missing? What must you do to achieve that goal, that destination, that echelon known as 'Top Salesperson'?

Strange as it may sound, you can 'will' yourself into that position.

In fact, whatever you desire, whatever you focus on in life will indicate your path and control your destiny. There is an old saying: "Be careful what you want, or ask for, because you will get it."

Why is that?

As in all things in life - no matter what your walk of life - your desire, drive and determination are what count the most. If you focus on your 'goal' or 'destination' and couple that with a very strong desire, without deviation, you will become a top salesperson!

However, as in all things, there is a price to pay!

There will be detours along the way that you'll have to go around, hop over or plough through, and when they occur, you must consider them all as potential opportunities for new, interesting and lucrative developments that will lead to more business.

If you always consider setbacks in this manner, you will continue to remain in a positive frame of mind and 'bump into' unexpected opportunity.

So, stay your course, keep your bearing. Remain bright-eyed and bushy-tailed every waking moment of every working day, constantly keeping a sharp eye out for new business.

This leads to one crucial requirement. You must groom and prepare yourself as any top professional does. You cannot function properly, meeting all the demands of your working day, and you cannot sustain your energy for any appreciable length of time , if you have not applied a few basic fundamentals.

The first is a good night's rest. Whether you require six, eight or ten hours of sleep every night, you must get enough of it on a regular basis. It goes without saying too, that proper and adequate nourishment of your body is also of the greatest
