I wrote this under "NFC Predictions," misreading it, but I have edited that and moved this article to where it goes. I don't have a huge, in-depth, overview of each team, those may come at the end of the preseason if I have more time. I also don't have projected records, because that requires a decent amount of work, either going game-by-game, and predicting outcomes, or totaling everyone's records so they are actually possible. I do, however, have my projections of each divisions standings, playoff results, and of course teams with the top 5 picks in 2008.
*=Wild Card
(seed)
AFC
East
1) New England Patriots (2) - An exciting team to watch, Tom Brady may take a few weeks to get comfortable with his receivers, but they will hit the playoffs full steam
2) New York Jets
3) Miami Dolphins
4) Buffalo Bills
North
1) Cincinnati Bengals (4) - An explosive offense will get them into the playoffs, but they won't go far.
2) Baltimore Ravens* (5) - A very good defense will get them the wild card, and perform well in the playoffs.
3) Pittsburgh Steelers
4) Cleveland Browns
South
1) Indianapolis Colts (1) - The losses they have suffered won't hurt there regular season a lot, but they will kill them when its time for the playoffs.
2) Jacksonville Jaguars
3) Tennessee Titans
4) Houston Texans
West
1) San Diego Chargers (3) - A team loaded with talent, I don't see Norv Turner as an upgrade from Schottenheimer though.
2) Denver Broncos* (6) they had a good offseason, but they weren't great last year.
NFC
East
1) Dallas Cowboys (3) - Romo is playing for a contract, and TO, and Glenn are two very good receivers. They will also have a solid defense.
2) Philadelphia Eagles* (5) Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook are the core of this team, but both have injury problems, and if one of them gets hurt the eagles are in trouble.
3) Washington Redskins
North
1) Chicago Bears (2) The worst division in football will improve a little, but the bears should still dominate it.
2) Minnesota Vikings* (6) - They can run the ball w/ Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor, and have a great run D, two factors that often lead to success
South
1) New Orleans Saints (1) - This offense will be the best in the league, and the division isn't that great.
West
1) San Francisco 49ers (4) - yes they are over-hyped, but I like some of their moves this offseason and this division changes a lot,
