HOW TO FEND OFF ALLERGIES AND THE FLU.
There is a phrase which is often used: "an apple a day will keep the doctor away! It is my believe, that mother nature provides a remedy for all our ills. Problems which I attribute to a weak immune system.
When I moved to the Us, I started to sneeze and have a "runny" nose. "You have allergies" - said the doctor. Hmallergies? What affected me and why?
In all my travels, no other country affected me this way why? I searched for answers. Was I missing proper nutrition? Why did my taste buds signal acute lack in flavor of the fruits and vegetables I bought in the stores?
I attribute this to human intervention and the lack of sun ripened fruit imported from far away. Since I was used to eat fruit fresh off the vine and/or picked from the trees, and vegetables grown in our own garden, I was acutely aware of the difference in taste. What vital nutrients are missing when a fruit is not sun ripened? I'm not a doctor, nor am I a scientist in that department, but I have my inner (7?) senses and intuition to guide me.
When I moved to Arizona, the allergies got so bad that they hindered my functionality. To top this misery, I got the flu.
My system was obviously extremely week. It is my believe that the immune system, when strong, can fend off any illness.
Miserable, there is only one thing I can eat and my stomach will not reject: oatmeal soup. Here is how this wondrous concoction is made:
1. Put the oats into a pan with cold water
2. Slowly simmer them until the soup shows a creamy texture.
3. Remove the oats with a strainer and flavor the soup to your liking.
This soup will give you strength without taxiing the stomach and your system; it is easily digestible. When you start to regain strength and wellness, the oats can be left in the soup for additional nourishment. Old or young alike will benefit without those pesky side effects.
Knowing that vitamin "C" allegedly has no effect upon the immune system once you're sick, I decided to squeeze fresh lemons and drink it - straight no water no sugar or any other liquid added to it. This is a "sour" proposition alright, but it works. Why?
Apparently, the germs cannot survive in the acidity of the lemon juice! In time, the immune system builds itself up and if the treatment is pursued on a regular basis, you won't get sick. At age 67, I never had a flew shot and never again contracted the flew, even though, I tended to a sick person in bed with the flu.
My best experience: drink the juice of one lemon, chew and eat the seeds as well - before bed time.
Why chew and eat the seeds?
My thinking is: when an entire tree can grow from this small seed, it must contain immense goodness!
