Coke and Pepsi are two popular beverages and opinions about the best of these two beverages will vary. However, coke was more popular in the past; at this moment there is almost no difference in popularity worldwide. If you want to compare both drinks, you need to pay attention to possible health and also taste differences.
HEALTH
Both beverages are soft drinks and contain the same amount of sugar. There is no real difference concerning the health issues about these two drinks. You can best avoid drinking too much of these beverages because the quantity of sugar is high and the risk to get diabetes or a high cholesterol is very high. A moderate intake of these two beverages doesn't harm your health. Most soft drinks contain sugar and everyone needs a little bit sugar to maintain a good health.
Coke and Pepsi contain also caffeine. Caffeine is an addictive drug which affects our nervous system. Many people will feel nervous after drinking a few glasses of Coke or Pepsi. The quantity of caffeine in both beverages is almost the same. Coke and Pepsi have different kinds of drinks and you can check the quantity of sugar and caffeine on the label of the bottom. Caffeine can also stimulate headache and migraine. It is important to limit the quantity of both beverages to avoid these negative health effects.
TASTE
People have another preference of taste. Some will claim that Coke has a sweeter taste than Pepsi; others will claim the contrary. There is a test done by Samuel Mc Clure about the difference between the taste of Coke and Pepsi. The result of this test was that most people couldn't tell which beverage Coke or Pepsi was.
Researchers have proven that the difference is all in your head. The marketing of both brands has a great influence to make people thinking that one of both beverages taste better. For example, if you fill one glass with Coke and one with Pepsi and you tell which if filled with Coke and which with Pepsi; people who are convinced that Coke is the best drink will tell that the one with Coke taste better. If you don't tell them which glass contains Coke or Pepsi; they only can guess which glass contains Coke or Pepsi.
Some people will claim that there is difference between the vanilla used in both product. Maybe it is true but probably you don't taste the difference. Some people claim that Coke will have more sugar than Pepsi and probably you will find some with small differences but Coke will also have some kinds of drinks with less sugar. Even if one of both brands should contain more sugar than the other one; the difference is so small that you can't taste the difference.
Coke and Pepsi are two popular beverages and people have different opinions about which one is best. Even if the taste should be different, some will prefer Coke and others Pepsi. I tend to say "I prefer Coke" but probably if you should ask me which glass is Coke and which one is Pepsi, I have to guess the answer. Both drinks are soft drinks and most people will like these drinks especially in the summer months. Both beverages are popular worldwide.
