We are wrongfully taught, at least in my opinion, that as Christians, we should all be doing the same thing at the same time in the same way. While Jesus taught the apostles God's truths, each apostle saw something a little differently than the other. This shows up by the difference in the Gospels. They are slight but they are there. Just as we would report an incident differently to a cop if we saw a crime, we would report on the most meaningful thing to us.
As the apostles split up after the death and resurrection of Jesus, their ministries as well as their deaths were different. They were not taught that everyone does the same thing at the same time. I find no where in the Bible where everyone ministered just in the town meeting place or on top of the mountain. They ministered where they had opportunity.
God speaks to us as individuals through the Holy Ghost. He sees us separately with our own walk in life. While we all go through some of the same difficulties, our answers to prayer are according to our needs and we each need something personal.
I believe that there is good in bad and bad in good and it's up to you to seek it out. I came home from the hospital one night with my two best friends after my husband had died. I felt numb and yet totally wired at the same time. After a while I got up and paced back and forth long enough to upset my friends. They finally asked me what I was doing.
I told them my belief and said I needed to find something good out of this bad situation right then. I knew something more important would be made known to me later but right then, I needed something good in his death. I paced some more and suddenly yelled that I had it! I finally had tools of my own!
This was not near as exciting to them as it was to me but I had found something good to hang onto, just to help me through the next few hours. I had tools that I didn't have to ask to use, I could just use them any time I wanted.
Balance is not something that is taught in most churches. In all my years, I have only found one and that was far away and long ago. As the evil taste the good of God on earth so do the good taste the evil of Satan. It is not by something they did wrong. It is not by sin hidden in their hearts. It is a matter of balance and we decide which we will see and live by.
