Summer vacations are about having fun in the sun and relaxing. When people go to the mountains, they are not relaxing-they are usually doing anything but relaxing. Hiking is a fun way to spend a day-that 's not a vacation, that's a day.

The beach is a better place to dodge the heat, take off some clothes and get into the water. That is what vacationing in the summertime is all about. Plus, there are always good places to drink beer and meet college girls. Now, we really are talking about summer vacation. Seriously, the mountains are fun for summer hiking (which is good for about a day. And, the mountains are truly great for winter vacation-think snow and go skiing. But, the beach is where it's at, year 'round, when it comes to getting into the water and cooling off! I love the beach. In fact, I could go on for days on why living in Florida is better than living in Colorado! Beach life rules! It is a fun-oriented life-style and you cannot beat it during the hot months.

Someone interested in the summertime mountain lifestyle should move to the mountains. Rock climbing, hiking, camping, kayaking, white-water rafting, etc., are best enjoyed when a program of learning over several months and years is undertaken. Winter vacation is great in the mountains-go skiing for 3 to 7 days and have a blast!
