"It will never happen to me"
is what we say
but eight years later
it's still like yesterday.
Ashamed of my body
and the permanent stain
I took a vow
"I would abstain".
The sin was kept silent
though my stomach would lurch
faith was shattered
in the sanctity of church.
He made one mistake though
I was not his last
choosing someone stronger
with hidden violent past.
We victims were countless
but now we sleep well
knowing our cardinal
is burning in hell.
